Background :Deoxynivalenol (DON, vomitoxin) is a trichothecene mycotoxin produced by Fusarium species, commonly contaminating wheat, corn and barley. It inhibits protein synthesis and causes feed refusal and vomiting in livestock. Antibody-based assays are used for DON monitoring in grain and feed.
