Background :Oxysterol-binding protein-related protein 6: Regulates cellular transport and efflux of cholesterol . Localizes at the neurons plasma membrane-endoplasmic reticulum contact sites, and exchanges phosphatidylserine (1,2-diacyl-sn-glycero-3-phospho-L-serine, PS) from the endoplasmic reticulum for phosphatidylinositol-4-phosphate (1,2-diacyl-sn-glycero-3-phospho-(1D-myo-inositol 4-phosphate), PI(4)P) from the plasma membrane (By similarity). Binds via its PH domain PI4P, phosphatidylinositol-4,5-diphosphate, phosphatidylinositol-3,4,5-triphosphate, and phosphatidic acid (By similarity). Weakly binds 25-hydroxycholesterol
