Background :MAP1LC3A (microtubule-associated proteins 1A/1B light chain 3A, LC3A) is a central component of the autophagy pathway. During autophagy, cytosolic LC3-I is conjugated to phosphatidylethanolamine to form lipidated LC3-II, which associates with autophagosome membranes. LC3 is the most widely used molecular marker for monitoring autophagy and autophagosome formation.
