Background :Polynucleotide 5'-hydroxyl-kinase NOL9: Polynucleotide kinase that can phosphorylate the 5'-hydroxyl groups of single-stranded and double-stranded RNA and DNA substrates . Involved in rRNA processing and its kinase activity is required for the processing of the 32S precursor into 5.8S and 28S rRNAs, more specifically for the generation of the major 5.8S(S) form . Required for the efficient pre-rRNA processing of internal transcribed spacer 2 (ITS2) . Associates with LAS1L to form an ITS2 pre-rRNA endonuclease-kinase complex and is responsible for the transport of this complex into the nucleolus

Western blot analysis of Cyclin K expression in HeLa (A), mouse brain (B) whole cell lysates.

Immunohistochemical analysis of Cyclin K staining in human breast cancer formalin fixed paraffin embedded tissue section. The section was pre-treated using heat mediated antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6.0). The section was then incubated with the antibody at room temperature and detected using an HRP conjugated compact polymer system. DAB was used as the chromogen. The section was then counterstained with haematoxylin and mounted with DPX.
