Background :Prenylcysteine oxidase that cleaves the thioether bond of prenyl-L-cysteines, such as farnesylcysteine and geranylgeranylcysteine. Does not metabolize shorter prenyl chain compounds (Probable). Required in the mevalonate pathway to regulate prenylation and enhances the bactericidal activity of neutrophils (By similarity). Promotes the assembly of the postsynaptic ion channel ASIC1a (By similarity)
