Background :Signal peptide, CUB and EGF-like domain-containing protein 2: Lipid-binding protein carrier required for sonic hedgehog (SHH) long-range signaling: binds to the dually lipid-modified Sonic hedgehog protein N-product (ShhN) and promotes its release from producing cells, allowing it to act as a morphogen for distant signaling . ShhN is then transferred to the CDON-BOC heterodimer and GAS1 coreceptors to reach its target, the patched receptor (PTCH1 or PTCH2), followed by activation of the smoothened signaling pathway . May also enhance the proteolytic processing (shedding) of the lipid-modified N- and C- terminal of ShhNp at the cell surface . Synergizes with DISP1 to increase SHH secretion . Probable cell surface coreceptor for VEGFR2 involved in VEGFR2-mediated angiogenesis

Western blot analysis of PSKH1 expression in Hela (A), HepG2 (B) whole cell lysates.

Immunohistochemical analysis of PSKH1 staining in human brain formalin fixed paraffin embedded tissue section. The section was pre-treated using heat mediated antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6.0). The section was then incubated with the antibody at room temperature and detected using an HRP conjugated compact polymer system. DAB was used as the chromogen. The section was then counterstained with haematoxylin and mounted with DPX.
